Meet Rosso
London-based painter and founder of RossoArtSchool.
After more than fifteen years of studio practice — alongside exhibitions, awards, and years of teaching — I began to notice a pattern: many artists could build a convincing portrait, but struggled with the rest of the painting. The background. The composition. The materials. The parts nobody had really taught them.
Over time, I developed my own approach — built on classical portrait foundations and expanded through experimentation. I began sharing this method in 2018 through workshops and online teaching. As demand grew within my community of more than 190K artists on Instagram, it became clear that this work needed a dedicated home.
In 2024, I founded Rosso Art School — a place where artists can learn the entire creative process, not just how to paint a portrait. Today the school is proudly supported by Cass Art, Michael Harding Paints, and Pro Arte Brushes, and continues to grow into an international community of artists committed to mastering the full language of painting.
