Effective date: 15 November 2025

This policy governs the use of all reference materials provided by Rosso Art School, including photographic references, videos, demonstrations, screenshots, and downloadable resources.
By enrolling in any Rosso Art School program, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Intellectual Property Ownership

All photographic references, images, videos, screenshots, demonstrations, and visual materials provided within Rosso Art School courses, workshops, retreats, live sessions, and downloadable resources are the exclusive intellectual property of Rosso Emerald Crimson / Rosso Art School and are protected under international copyright law.

Ownership of these materials is not transferred to students under any circumstances.

Permitted Use

Students are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use provided reference materials strictly for:

  • Personal learning and private practice

  • Studies and exercises completed within the context of the course or workshop

  • Skill development for educational purposes only

This permission applies only while actively enrolled and does not extend beyond personal study.

Prohibited Use

Provided reference materials may not be used, in whole or in part, for:

  • Public or private exhibitions (physical or online)

  • Competitions, open calls, prizes, or juried shows

  • Commercial use, including sales, commissions, prints, NFTs, licensing, or reproduction

  • Portfolio use intended for professional advancement

  • Social media posting, websites, or public platforms

  • Derivative works intended for public dissemination

Re-drawing, painting, altering, cropping, or stylistically transforming a reference does not remove copyright protection.

Public Sharing & Social Media

Artwork created from Rosso Art School reference materials may not be shared publicly (including social media) unless explicit written permission has been granted in advance.

Private student communities operated by Rosso Art School are excluded from this restriction unless otherwise stated.

Using Your Own References

Students are strongly encouraged to use their own photographic references for any work intended for:

  • Exhibition

  • Competition

  • Portfolio presentation

  • Public or commercial use

This ensures full creative freedom and avoids copyright conflicts.

Permission Requests

Requests for permission to exhibit or publicly share work created from Rosso Art School references must be submitted in writing.

If permission is granted, credit must appear clearly as:
“Painted from photographic reference by Rosso Emerald Crimson.”

Permission may be granted or declined at the sole discretion of Rosso Art School.

Enforcement

Unauthorized use of reference materials constitutes a breach of these terms and may result in:

  • Removal from the course or community

  • Revocation of access without refund

  • Formal takedown requests

  • Legal action where appropriate
