Learn solid classical skills in portrait painting: drawing and proportion, structure and form, anatomy and edges, believable skin tones.
Without structure, there is nothing meaningful to push against.
Material Exploration
Build expressive, complex grounds using mixed media, gold leaf, layering, and intuitive mark-making.
Create surfaces that resist easy solutions and force creative problem-solving.
Integration, Not Decoration
Use your foundations to work through complexity.
Connect figure and ground so they belong to the same visual language.
Every decision becomes an act of exploration — guided by classical principles, not dictated by them.

After years of painting within the limits of realism, I developed a way to merge classical skill with expressive freedom — a process that reignited my creativity and completely transformed my work and career.
This isn't academic training - it's 15 years of professional studio practice systematized so you can achieve the same breakthrough.
I began teaching this process online and in person in 2020. In 2024, I founded Rosso Art School to bring my entire method together in one place. Overall, I've taught over 1,000 students worldwide - over 350 have joined the programs, and the community keeps expanding both here and with over 190K followers on Instagram
