I’ve always loved portraiture — but for years, I felt trapped inside the stiffness of traditional realism.
I wanted to create paintings that went beyond likeness, paintings that would carry a more universal story.
After 15 years of experimenting, failing, and refining, I finally discovered a way to merge classical skill with expressive freedom.

Hi, I'm Rosso
a London-based painter and founder of the school.
After more than sixteen years of painting professionally — with exhibitions, awards, and years of teaching — I realised how many artists were searching for what I had spent years developing: the guidance to connect classical realism with abstract expression.
I began sharing my approach in 2018, both in person and online, and as the demand grew through my community on Instagram, I decided to create something bigger.
In 2024, I founded Rosso Art School to bring together everything I’ve learned through years of painting and teaching — shaping it into a clear, structured framework that artists everywhere can follow.
In less than a year, over 200 artists have already enrolled, alongside more than 500 students who have attended my workshops and courses in person.
The school is proudly supported by Cass Art, Michael Harding Paints, and ProArte Brushes — and continues to grow into a vibrant international community for artists who, like me, value structure and skill yet long for freedom.
