Join me for an intensive workshop at CASS Art’s new store in King’s Cross, celebrating the launch of my new 10-colour Skin Tone Oil Paint Set, created in collaboration with CASS Art and Michael Harding.

The session begins with a focused colour-mixing workshop using the colours from the set to create realistic flesh tones for different complexions. I’ll introduce you to my approach to mixing skin colour — not as a fixed recipe, but as a system that can be adapted to virtually any complexion.

In the second half, we’ll put those mixtures into practice. Working from a choice of three photographic references featuring models with different complexions, I’ll guide you through applying your mixed skin tones to create a realistic portrait study in oil.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a transferable method for approaching and mixing skin tones across different complexions, which you can apply to future portraits, as well as a small finished portrait study created during the session.
